How to split a PDF for separate recipients
By PDFEditor.ae · Published
Plan who gets which pages
List each recipient and the page positions that concern them, for example: Finance — pages 1-4; Legal — pages 5-9; Supplier — page 10. Check for pages that more than one person needs.
Create one file per recipient
- Open Extract Pages and upload the full PDF.
- Enter the first recipient's pages and extract.
- Download and rename the file for that recipient.
- Repeat for each recipient, starting from the full PDF each time.
When everyone gets single pages
If each recipient needs exactly one page — such as individual certificates or payslips in one file — Split PDF makes all the one-page files in a single run.
Check identifiers, not just page counts
A file with the right number of pages can still contain the wrong pages. Open each output and check the customer name or reference on its first page and on any appended supporting documents. Printed page labels can differ from the page positions the tool uses, so confirm ranges against the viewer's page counter.
Before sending
- Open each file and check that nothing belonging to someone else is inside.
- Use filenames that identify the content, not personal details.
- Send each file only to its recipient.
