How to prepare a document pack from phone photos
By PDFEditor.ae · Published
Capture quality matters more than the converter
- Use daylight or a bright room; avoid flash, which causes glare on glossy paper.
- Hold the phone directly above the page so the edges are straight.
- Fill the frame with the page and use a dark, plain background.
- Take one page per photo, and check focus on each before moving on.
- Bad example: a page photographed at an angle under a lamp — shadows hide numbers and the text slants. Good example: the same page shot from above by a window, edges parallel to the frame.
Build the pack
- Crop and straighten the photos on your phone.
- Convert each document's photos with JPG to PDF, in page order.
- Combine the documents with Merge PDF, in the order the recipient expects.
- Fix any page in the wrong place with Reorder Pages.
Keep the size down
Phone photos can be several megabytes each, and compression will not reduce them. If the pack is too large, resize the photos (around 2,000 pixels wide is usually plenty for a document page) and convert again.
Final check
- Every page is readable at 100% zoom.
- Nothing is cut off at the edges.
- No page is sideways.
- The total size fits the upload limit.
