How to fill a PDF form and check the saved result

By PDFEditor.ae · Published

How filling works here

Fill PDF places your text on top of the page wherever you click. That means it works on any form — digital, flattened or scanned — but it does not detect interactive form fields. Line your text up with each box yourself.

Steps

  1. Open Fill PDF and upload the form.
  2. Choose Add Text, click inside the first box and type.
  3. Drag the text to line it up; change the size if it does not fit.
  4. For tick boxes, open Shapes and choose Check mark, then click the box.
  5. Add your signature with the Sign tool if the form needs one.
  6. Click Save to download the completed form.

Check the saved file, not the screen

  • Open the downloaded PDF in a different viewer, on desktop and on phone if you can.
  • Every answer is visible and inside its box.
  • Names, dates and reference numbers match your source documents exactly.
  • Typed Arabic or other non-Latin text is saved as an image of the text: check it is sharp.
  • No page of the form is missing.

Test with a long answer

Long answers are where forms go wrong: text that looks fine while editing can run over the box edge. Fill in your longest answer first, download, and check the whole answer is visible. If it does not fit at a readable size, ask the recipient how to supply extra information.

Why did my answers disappear?

Usually the blank original was sent instead of the downloaded copy, or the editor tab was closed before saving. Find the downloaded file, open it, and attach that exact file.

Saving progress

Download the file when you stop and upload it again to continue. Pro accounts also keep results in file history for 30 days.
