How to add notes to a PDF for review

By PDFEditor.ae · Published

Good review notes

  • Point at the problem without covering it: highlight the words, then put the comment beside them.
  • Say what should change, not only that something is wrong.
  • Use one colour for must-fix items and another for suggestions, and say which is which.
  • Keep each comment to one issue.

Steps

  1. Open Annotate PDF and upload the document.
  2. Use Highlight on passages, Draw for freehand marks, and Shapes for boxes, lines and crosses.
  3. Use Comment to leave a note on the page.
  4. Click Save and download the marked-up copy.

How comments are saved

On download, each open comment is printed on the page next to a small marker; resolved comments are left out. Comment text supports Latin characters only. Highlights and drawings become part of the page, so keep the original if you need a clean copy.

Check before sending

  • No comment hides a number or name the reader needs.
  • Every comment is legible at 100% zoom.
  • You sent the annotated copy, not the original.
