How to convert a spreadsheet into a readable PDF

By PDFEditor.ae · Published

Choose the route that matches your goal

To keep the grid, colours and column layout, export from the spreadsheet program itself: in Excel, set the print area and use File → Export → PDF. Our Excel to PDF tool is text-based: it lists the sheet's text in a simple PDF without the grid or styling. Use it when you just need the content in PDF form.

Prepare the sheet first

  • Hide or delete helper columns the reader does not need.
  • Set a print area so only the relevant range is included.
  • Use landscape orientation for wide tables, and "Fit all columns on one page" in the print settings.
  • Repeat the header row on every page (Page Layout → Print Titles).
  • Make sure no cell shows ##### because the column is too narrow.

Using our converter

Upload the XLSX, convert, and download. Arabic and other non-Latin text is not supported yet and is left out.

Final checks

  • Totals match the spreadsheet.
  • Columns did not spill onto extra pages.
  • Numbers kept their currency and decimal format.
